ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. DEEP PURPLE-SHADES OF DEEP PURPLE-1968-FIRST PRESS USA-TETRAGRAMMATON- T-102, Shades of Deep Purple is the debut album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in July 1968 on the Tetragrammaton label in the USA and in September 1968 on the Parlophone label in the UK. The band, originally called Roundabout, was the idea of former Seahawks drummer Chris Curtis, who invited Jon Lord and Richie Blackmore to join the band before leaving the project. In March 1968, the band was joined by vocalist and frontman Rod Evans, as well as bassist Nick Simper and drummer Ian Pace. After two months of rehearsals, Shades of Deep Purple was recorded in just three days in May 1968. It contains four original songs and four cover versions, carefully arranged with classical interludes added to make the sound more psychedelic. Stylistically, the music is close to psychedelic rock and progressive rock, two genres whose audience was constantly growing in the late 1960s. The album was not widely recognized in the UK, where very few copies were sold and it did not chart. On the other hand, he was a success in the US, and the single "Hush", an energetic rock track written by Joe South and originally recorded by Billy Joe Royal, became very popular at the time and reached number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. ...more
