A rare British original by a cult prog band. Levitation is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Hawkwind, released in 1980. It reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. During the album's release, bandleader Dave Brock stated, "With Levitation, we returned to the style of our debut album. And it was a record that fully expressed our ideals and what we fought for."  This is their first studio album since the departure of lead vocalist and lyricist Robert Calvert, and the lyrics here are usually superficial, and the number of instrumental parts is increased.
