SANTANA-SHAPE SHIIFTER-2012-FIRST UK/EU PRESS-MUSIC ON VINYL- MOVLP573 is a rare European original by the legendary guitarist. Shape Shifter is the twenty—second studio album (thirty-sixth album overall) by Santana. It was released on May 14, 2012. This album is the first released by his new label Starfaith Records, which is distributed by Sony Music Entertainment, the owners of all of Santana's albums (except those recorded for Polydor Records, which are owned by Universal Music Group). This is also the first album since 1992 by Milagro, in which none of the songs have guest vocalists. This style was typical of Santana's Supernatural albums. There is only one song with vocals in the album ("Eres La Luz"). The track "Mr. Szabo" is a tribute to Hungarian guitarist Gabor Szabo, one of Carlos Santana's early idols, who released a series of 8 albums for Impulse Records between 1966 and 1967; the rhythmic and harmonic structure of the track is similar to "Gypsy Queen", Szabo's 1966 recording, covered by Santana in 1970 this year, as a medley with Fleetwood Mac's "Black Magic Woman".

DEEP PURPLE-IN ROCK-1970- THE FIRST UK PRESS-HARVEST- SHVL777. Matrices A-2/B-1. Deep Purple in Rock is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple, released on June 5, 1970 on Harvest Records. This is the first studio album recorded with the classic band line-up called "Mark II" (a little earlier, this line-up recorded the live album Concerto for Group and Orchestra). Since this album, the band's style has changed dramatically. Deep Purple started playing hard rock almost simultaneously with such bands as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, and are considered one of the founders and classics of this genre. According to the music critic, "the record became the epicenter of destruction, a fresh stream in the rock of the 1970s and a turn in history, in which the roots of the heavy metal style were laid." Deep Purple in Rock became the band's breakthrough album in Europe and reached number four on the UK national charts, remaining on the charts for over a year. His accompanying single "Black Night" reached the 2nd line. It has been included in various lists of the best albums, including Classic Rock magazine's list of the "100 Greatest British Albums of All Time" and Q magazine's list of the "50 Best Albums of the 70s." In 2015, the American website Ultimate Classic Rock ranked the album at the top of its ranking of Deep Purple's best works. Certified as a gold disc in the UK, USA, France, the Netherlands and Argentina. ...more

ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER- CATS (2LP'S)-1981-THE FIRST UK PRESS-POLYDOR-CATX001. A very rare British original of a cult rock opera. "Cats" is a musical musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is based on T. S. Eliot's 1939 collection of poems, The Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellykles and the night they make the "Jellykles choice", deciding which cat will rise to the Heaviside layer and return to a new life. As of 2024, "Cats" remains the fifth longest-running Broadway show and the eighth longest-running show in the West End. Lloyd Webber began writing music based on Eliot's poems in 1977, and in 1980 these compositions were first presented as a song cycle. Then producer Cameron Mackintosh invited director Trevor Nunn and choreographer Gillian Lynn to turn the songs into a full-fledged musical. "Cats" received positive reviews at the New London Theatre in the West End in 1981, followed by mixed reviews at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway in 1982. They have won numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Musical. Despite the unusual idea, which initially scared off investors, the musical was an unprecedented commercial success: by 2012, its box office worldwide totaled 3.5 billion US dollars. ...more

ROLLING STONES-AFTERMATH-1966-EXPORT ONLY-1970-FIRST UK PRESS-DECCA- number SKL4786 of the 2GH/1KU stamper XZAL7209-1W/XZAL7209-1W. Aftermath is the fourth British and sixth American studio album by the British rock band The Rolling Stones, released in two versions. The British version of the record (Decca Records) was released on April 15, 1966, and was intended for sale in the United States (London Records) on June 20. The CD is designed in the classic rhythm and blues style for the band, but it has become more "experimental" than its predecessors; for example, in a number of songs such non-standard instruments for rock music as sitar, accordion and marimba (African xylophone) are used. It is believed that the recording of Aftermath has become one of the most important milestones in the work of the band. In 2002, the album was included in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All time at number 108. ...more

URIAH HEEP-...VERY 'EAVY VERY 'UMBLE-1970-FIRST PRESS (STANDARD VERSION) UK- VERTIGO SWIRL-6360006. A-1/B-1 Stamper matrices 420-1-1-4./ 420-1-1-5 An earlier version with an error on the label (songwriters and publishing are not specified) has been corrected to this version of the label. At the same time, the matrices and stamps remained the same, as well as the error in the track list on the inside of the cover. A mega rare British original of a cult album. The album was released in June 1970 by Vertigo Records in the UK. The original vinyl release was a spread-out envelope with frontman David Byron depicted on the front sleeve, almost unrecognizable under the cobwebs. It was released in August 1970 by Mercury Records in the United States under the name just Uriah Heep with a different cover design (a centipede-type monster) and with the track "Bird of Prey" instead of "Lucy Blues". The album was re-released by Bronze Records in 1971 after the band signed a contract with that label. The album shows how the band tries different genres – a mix of heavy metal and progressive rock, rather than hard rock, which they became known for on later albums. Tracks 3 and 8 were recorded as Spice songs before the band's renaming to Uriah Heep, and featured session musician Colin Wood on keyboards. When Ken Hensley joined Spice in early 1970, the tracks were not re-recorded. ...more
