WAITS, TOM-SWORDFISHTROMBONE-1983-THE FIRST PRESS OF GERMANY-ISLAND-205774 A rare German original of the eighth album from the master of tavern blues. Swordfishtrombones is the eighth studio album by singer-songwriter Tom Waits, released in 1983 on Island Records. It was the first album that Waits released himself. Stylistically different from his previous albums, Swordfishtrombones moves away from traditional piano songwriting towards unusual instrumentation and a somewhat more abstract and experimental rock approach. The cover is a photo of Michael A. Russavin, in which Waits is depicted with actors Angelo Rossitto and Lee Colima. The album reached number 164 on the Billboard Pop Albums and 200 Albums charts. It was ranked 2nd among the "Albums of the Year" for 1983 by NME In 1989, Spin named Swordfishtrombones the second greatest album of all time. In 2006, Company Q placed the album at number 36 on their list of "The 40 Best Albums of the 80s." Pitchfork listed Swordfishtrombones as the 11th best album of the 1980s. NAZARETH-NO JIVE-1991-FIRST PRESS UK/EU GERMANY-MAUSOLEUM - 36700101. Mega rare album of the giants of British rock. The first press was released only in Germany. No Jive is the eighteenth studio album by the British band Nazareth. Released in 1991 by Griffin Records. Despite the retirement of permanent guitarist Manny Charlton and the return of Billy Rankin, in the 90s Nazareth returned to classic hard rock, from which they started. From the first chords of "Hire and Fire", you seem to be transported to 1974, to the time of "Rampant". The first 3 tracks were made in this style. Next is the obligatory melodic semi-ballad "Every Time it Rains". Remnants of the sound of the 80s are still left in "Keeping our Love Alive". "The Rowan Tree" is a nice little instrumental on an acoustic guitar, which is like an introduction to" Tell Me That You Love Me " – here the guys remembered that they are from Scotland and played a wonderful folk singing song. The disc ends with the once again replayed "This Flight Tonight" In February 1992, the album was released, received flattering reviews from critics, followed by a tour of Europe, including the first trip to England after 1985. In 1993, "No Jive" was released in the United States, received excellent reviews and sold well. ...more
