The album, released in 1968, is better known as the "White Album" because of its white cover, on which there is nothing but the name of the band (the serial number also appears on early editions), and which was designed by artist Richard Hamilton as an antithesis to the motley image of his predecessor. White Album was the first album The Beatles recorded and released after the death of the band's manager Brian Epstein. It was originally planned to be called A Doll's House ("Doll's House"), however, due to the release of the Family group's longplay with a similar name, Music in a Doll's House ("Music in a Doll's House"), it was decided to rename it. The album reached number 1 in the UK and US charts and is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time and a masterpiece of rock music. Thus, he was placed at the 10th position in the "Music of the Millennium" poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM, as well as at the 17th place in a similar list of Q magazine. In addition, it reached the 7th place in the poll "100 best British albums of all time" by the same publication. White Album took 11th place in the rating of the "Best albums of all time" according to VH1, and also got into the list of the "100 best albums" according to Time magazine. In addition, the record occupies the 10th position in the list of the 500 greatest albums of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, the 1st in the rating of the L.A. Weekly newspaper "20 greatest double albums", a similar place in the NME list "30 double albums must-listen", as well as the highest line in the rating of The Daily Telegraph newspaper "10 greatest double albums in history". According to the RIAA, the White Album is the band's best-selling album in the United States and ranks 10th among the best-selling albums in history.

INXS-WELCOME TO WHEREVER YOU ARE-1992-FIRST PRESS EU-HOLLAND-MERCURY-512507-1.  A rare European original of the cult group. Welcome to Wherever You Are is the eighth studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released on August 3, 1992.Taking a course on the grunge and alternative rock that was relevant in the first half of the 90s, INXS tried to find a new direction for themselves, a la U2 (Achtung Baby), the use of a sitar, a 60-string orchestra and a much more "raw" sound. Producer Mark Opitz described the writing process as follows: "There's a lot of Michael, Andrew and me on the album. The opinion of everyone and everyone is not present here, because some of them were busy with significant changes in their personal lives." The mixing was handled by Bob Klimauntin. While working on the album, INXS performed at the Concert for Life in March 1992, performing some of the songs to the accompaniment of the orchestra[8] and presenting two new songs - "Taste It" and "All Around".The CD took 1st place in the UK chart, 16th place in the US Billboard 200 chart and was among the top ten albums of the year according to Q and The Independent magazines. However, due to insufficient promotion of the album by the record company and the lack of a tour in support of the album (after successful tours in support of Kick and X, the band took a vacation with the intention of returning with a tour in support of two albums), the album sold worse than its predecessors - gold in Britain in 1992, platinum in the USA in 1997. The band performed at the 1993 Australian Record Industry Awards (nominated for "Best Band"), performing "Heaven Sent" to the soundtrack of instruments, but with live vocals. ...more

BOWIE, DAVID-HEROES -1977-FIRST PRESS UK-RCA-PL12522. A rare British original of the cult album .. "Heroes" is the twelfth studio album by British musician David Bowie, released on October 14, 1977 on the RCA Records label; the second of the so-called "Berlin trilogy" (albums Low, "Heroes", Lodger), recorded in collaboration with Brian Eno. The only album of the cycle, entirely recorded in Berlin. On the "Heroes" disc, the sound of Low's previous album evolved in a more "positive" direction. The composition of the same name — a classic story of two lovers secretly meeting near the Berlin Wall with a threat to their lives - remains one of Bowie's most famous songs to this day. The album as a whole was extremely highly appreciated by critics - in particular, thanks to the contribution of guitarist Robert Fripp, who specially flew from the USA for one day to record his guitar parts. According to John Lennon, when creating his album Double Fantasy (1980), he sought to "do something as good as the album "Heroes"". The weekly New Musical Express called "Heroes" the "album of the year". ...more
