Pearls of Passion was recorded at EMI Studios in Stockholm in 1986, and was released only in Scandinavia and Canada. The first edition of the Swedish record has an engraved inscription on the rim: "T'WAS A PLEASURE - CAPTAIN AND KANGAROO". The inscription has a hidden meaning, but Per Gessle does not reveal the secret and wants it to remain a secret.

A 1957 studio album by American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, accompanied by Duke Ellington and his orchestra, dedicated to Ellington's songs. Part of the Fitzgerald Songbook series, this is the only one where the composer also appears as a performer, and the first time Fitzgerald recorded with Ellington. It is also the entry in the Songbook series that gave her the most opportunities to demonstrate her skill in singing scat.
