DEEP PURPLE-FIREBALL-1971-FIRST PRESS UK-HARVEST- SHVL793 Matrix A-2U/B-3U . A rare original of the cult album. Fireball is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple. Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, released in September 1971 on Harvest Records. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. Nevertheless, he noticed that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" (in the country style and with humorous lyrics) on the album was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord singled out several tracks of the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's playing in the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. 20,000 copies were sold in the first week. One of the first rock operas in the USSR, created on the initiative of director Mark Zakharov based on the dramatic cantata by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda "The Shining and Death of Joaquin Murieta, a Chilean robber killed in California on July 23, 1853." The play was performed on the stage of the Lenkom Theater for 17 seasons and was shown 1050 times.  In 1978, the first record "The Star and the Death of Joaquin Murieta" was released — the main parts were performed by: The Star, Teresa - Jeanne Rozhdestvenskaya; Joaquin Murieta, Death - Gennady Trofimov.
