SANTANA, CARLOS AND COLTRANE, ALICE - ILLUMINATIONS-1974-FIRST PRESS USA-COLUMBIA-PC32900. Rare American original original. After the release of the album , critics wrote: There is a clear discrepancy between the sheer ambition of this CD and its rather modest status in Santana's discography. The reason, obviously, is that the powerful swing did not quite succeed. We can say that this album is a continuation of the storyline started on Love, Devotion, Surrender with John McLaughlin. Here we are again witnessing a mighty spiritual message and free jazz arrivals. Here, Santana's partner is Alice Coltrane, the widow of the famous jazz musician. It is important that she is not only a widow, but also a harpist (almost the only one in jazz), as well as a pianist and string arranger. The presence of double bassist Dave Holland is also pleasing. The swing here is obvious: a bold attempt to mix classical, jazz and ethnic rhythms together - that is, to make a universal, comprehensive album. Admittedly, on quieter numbers, all this sounds very pleasant: beautiful passages by Santana, Alice's harp overdubs and blissful strings delight the ear, and for the sake of this alone, the album is worth keeping on the shelf. However, the central part of the album is still the 15-minute Angel Of Sunlight, which begins very smoothly, but develops into a frenzied battle of instruments and cultures.

The CD was recorded in July 1972 in Rome[4] and in October of the same year in Frankfurt using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. The band at that time was torn apart by internal conflicts and the recording of the album turned into a nightmare[4]. Ian Gillan later compared this album to The House of Blue Light in 1987: "It's all the same: great songs, but a complete lack of mutual understanding among the musicians and ... weak morale."Who Do We Think We Are did not rise above the 4th position in the UK and 15th in the US charts. WATERS, ROGER-THE WALL LIVE IN BERLIN (2LP)-1990-FIRST PRESS HOLLAND-MERCURY-846613-1. A rare European original of the cult concert. The Wall: Live in Berlin is a concert performance of the legendary rock opera The Wall by Pink Floyd, organized by its main author Roger Waters and held on July 21, 1990 at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz, which has long been divided by the Berlin Wall. The concert was filmed as a TV movie, and also released in September 1990 as a live album. The concert took place in the presence of a 200,000-strong audience on July 21, 1990 at Potsdamer Platz, which was previously a no-man's land separating East and West Berlin. During the concert, a "wall" with a width of more than 160 m and a height of about 25 m was erected on the stage, which was finally destroyed to the ground. Many bright performers and actors took part in the show. ...more
