A very rare British original of the cult band. Their debut album Blues Helping included the songs "Summertime" and "Wang Dang Doodle". They are best known for their new 1968 hit on the UK singles chart, a high-speed cover version of Aram Khachaturian's classic piece "Dance with a Saber", released on the Parlophone label (R 5744), which reached number 5 on the UK Singles chart in December 1968. The recording was inspired by Keith Emerson's classic permutations. "Sabre Dance" became a hit after the broadcast of British DJ John Peel, who was so impressed that he played it twice in the same program.. In December 1968, the British music magazine NME reported that Love Sculpture had signed a recording contract in the US with London Records guaranteeing 250,000 pounds. The band also received an invitation to perform "Sabre Dance" live on the German television program Beat-Club on Radio Bremen, which was broadcast in Germany at the time.  ...more

A very rare British original of the cult group. In 1967, Trinity released their debut album Open on the Gomel Marmalade label, which was intentionally recorded "live" in the studio. Despite Odger's exciting improvisations and Driscoll's strong vocals, the album went unnoticed. However, the single This Wheel's On Fire - a cover version of Dylan's song unknown to a wide audience at that time - released in the early summer of 1968, produced the effect of an exploding bomb and rose to 5th place in the charts. He forced the audience listening to the albums to pay attention to Open, which, with great delay, also entered the charts. A 1957 studio album by American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, accompanied by Duke Ellington and his orchestra, dedicated to Ellington's songs. Part of the Fitzgerald Songbook series, this is the only one where the composer also appears as a performer, and the first time Fitzgerald recorded with Ellington. It is also the entry in the Songbook series that gave her the most opportunities to demonstrate her skill in singing scat. Most of the third disc is dedicated to two original compositions by Billy Strayhorn, inspired by the life, character and artistry of Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's recording on this album earned her the Grammy Award for Best Individual Jazz Performance at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards. The album was released in two volumes: In the first volume was Fitzgerald with the Ellington Orchestra, in the second-Fitzgerald with a small group. This album marked the beginning of a fruitful creative relationship between Fitzgerald and Ellington.
