This is the last Pink Floyd album to feature Roger Waters, and is dedicated to Roger Waters ' father who died in World War II. The Final Cut was released in the UK on 21 March 1983, and in the US on 2 April, it reached number one in the UK, surpassing The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall. It was less successful in America, peaking at number six on the Billboard album charts. With over 1,000,000 units shipped in the United States, the Recording Industry Association of America certified Final Cut Platinum in May 1983. It was the second album of the same name by the band, the first was the debut album of 1968. It was the first Fleetwood Mac album with Lindsey Buckingham as the guitarist and Stevie Nicks as the vocalist, after Bob Welch (guitarist, singer and composer) left the band at the end of 1974. On September 4, 1976, the album topped the US Billboard 200 chart, 58 weeks after its release. In support of the album, three singles were released — "Over My Head", "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me" — each of which hit the top twenty of the chart, with the last two stopping a step away from the Top 10 - both in 11th place.
