A rare American original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "A Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album, "God Save the Queen", is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band. The band originally consisted of married couple Denis and Denise Lepage, who had a number one dance hit in the US in 1981 with the song "Your Love". Lime released their debut album Your Love in 1981. The title track became a gold record and a No. 1 hit on the Billboard disco chart in the United States. In 1982, Lime Lime II's second album was released with the support of the single "Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight", which reached No. 6 on the Billboard dance chart. ...more

LEE, ALVIN AND MYLON LEFEVRE (EX-TEN YEARS AFTER) -ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM-1973-FIRST PRESS UK-CHRYSALIS-CHR1054.1M/1P Stamper Matrices A-2U/B-2U (A Dream!)  A rare British original guitarist from TEN YEARS AFTER. On the Road to Freedom is an album by English rock musician Alvin Lee and American gospel singer Milon Lefevre. Released in November 1973, it was Lee's first solo project, which achieved international success thanks to his leadership of a blues rock band ten years later. The album was recorded at Lee's home studio in south Oxfordshire, which he and Lefebvre built specifically for the project. Guest musicians on the sessions were George Harrison, Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Ron Wood and Mick Fleetwood. "Fallen Angel" and Harrison's song "So Sad (No Love of His Own)" were released as singles from the album. The album On the Road to Freedom was well received by music critics, although Lee's more subtle guitar playing and new musical direction were not welcomed by fans Ten Years After.  ...more
