STEVE VAI- PASSION AND WARFARE - 1990- FIRST PRESS UK-FFT- GRUB17. A rare British original. Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on May 22, 1990 on Relativity and Epic Records. He received a gold certificate from the RIAA. Passion and Warfare was written based on a series of episodes of dreams that Vai had when he was younger, and in the album's guitar notes book Vai summarizes it this way: "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur arranged for Mel Blanc." It was all recorded at Mothership Studios in his Hollywood Hills home, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building that also recorded his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on the album; Coverdale, Adrian Vandenberg and Rudy Sarzo are credited with backing vocals. Vai claims that planning for the album began back in 1982, but was postponed after joining David Lee Roth's band and was not resumed until the breakup with Roth in 1989. ...more

Very rare Swedish original Spanish-language album. Gracias Por La Música is an album by the Swedish band ABBA, released in 1980. The release of Gracias Por La Música was prompted by the band's unexpected rise in popularity in Latin American countries such as Mexico and Argentina, following the release of Spanish-language versions of the songs " Chiquitita "and"I Have a Dream". The band members decided to record eight more songs in Spanish and release a full-length album specifically for this market. Buddy and Mary McCluskey, who worked at RCA Records in Argentina, were invited to translate the lyrics. The tracks were recorded in January 1980 at Polar Music Studios, with lead vocalists Agnete Faltskoog and Anni-Frid Lingstad assisted by Spanish-Swedish journalist Ana Martinez. The soundtracks of the songs, some of which date back to 1974-1975, have been modified to give them a more modern sound. Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, it was released in September 1971 on the Harvest Records label. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. However, he noted that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" on the album (in a country style and with humorous lyrics) was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord highlighted several tracks on the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's playing in the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. 20,000 copies were sold in the first week.
