On the front of the album cover there is a photo of the band through the glass in the lobby of the Morrison Hotel, which really existed in Los Angeles at 1246 South Hope Street, on the back there is a photo of a diner called "Hard Rock Cafe" The album reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and performed better abroad than the previous album (it was The band's highest charting studio album in the UK, where it peaked at No. 12).
