A rare original of the iconic jazzman. City of Eyes is an album by American jazz guitarist Ralph Towner recorded in 1988 and released on ECM the following April. The quintet consists of trumpeter Marcus Stockhausen, oboist Paul McCandless and rhythm section Gary Peacock and Jerry Granelli. Tom Jurek's review on AllMusic awarded the album 4 stars, stating: "City of Eyes once again shows Ralph Towner as a musical researcher, composer and instrumentalist who can convincingly create sonic journeys through time, space and terrain." ...more

URIAH HEEP-...VERY 'EAVY VERY 'UMBLE-1970-THE FIRST UK PRESS- VERTIGO SWIRL-6360006.  A mega rare British original of the iconic album. The album was released in June 1970 by Vertigo Records in the UK. The original vinyl release was a spread-out envelope with frontman David Byron depicted on the front sleeve, almost unrecognizable under the cobwebs. It was released in August 1970 by Mercury Records in the United States under the name just Uriah Heep with a different artwork on the cover (a centipede-type monster) and with the track "Bird of Prey" instead of "Lucy Blues". The album was re-released by Bronze Records in 1971 after the band signed with that label. The album shows the band trying out different genres – a mix of heavy metal and progressive rock, rather than the hard rock they became known for on later albums. Tracks 3 and 8 were recorded as Spice songs before the band was renamed Uriah Heep, and featured session musician Colin Wood on keyboards. When Ken Hensley joined Spice in early 1970, the tracks were not re-recorded. ...more

The album recorded by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett in November 1977 and released on ECM in June of the following year is the second release by his "European Quartet" featuring saxophonist Jan Garbarek and rhythm section, Palle Danielsson and John Christensen, after 1974, The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow states: "Due to the popularity of obsessive"My Song" this album is the most famous of Jarrett and Garbarek's collaborations, and in fact it is their most rewarding meeting ever. Jarrett wrote all six tracks, and the results were relaxed and introspective, but at the same time full of inner tension."  ...more

PAT METHENY AND LYLE MAYS-AS FALLS WICHITA , SO FALLS WICHITA FALLS-1981-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-ECM-ECM1190.  A rare original of the cult jazzman of the third wave (the beginning of the 70s) As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls is an album by jazz guitarist Pat Metheny and jazz pianist Lyle Mays recorded in September 1980 and released on ECM the following April. The trio consists of percussionist Nana Vasconcelos..Throughout the album, Metheny acts as the lead guitarist, accompanying guitarist and bassist, using an overdubbing technique. The track "September Fifteenth" refers to September 15, 1980, the day of the death of American jazz pianist Bill Evans. Metheny and Mays call Evans the main person involved. The album reached number 1 on the Jazz Billboard, and number 50 on the Pop/rock Billboard in 1979.  ...more
