The second album titled Use Your Illusion II. The disc climbed to the second place of the Billboard. For the first week, it sold 685, 000 copies, Use Your Illusion II was the slightly more successful (770 000 for the first week). Use Your Illusion I in the United States has sold 5 502 000, says Nielsen SoundScan..Each of the albums Use Your Illusion became seven-times platinum (RIAA). The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1992

Like the previous Grand Funk Railroad albums, it was recorded at the Cleveland Recording Company and is the last album produced by Terry Knight. The name is a play on the motto of the United States of America, E pluribus unum, and in Latin means "Of many, Funk". The original exhaust cover (designed by Ernie Cefalu) was completely round and covered with a silver film that resembled a large coin.
