BLUE RIDGE RANGERS (EX-CCR) -SAME(+BOOKLET)-1973-THE FIRST JAPAN-FANTASY-LFP-80800 PRESS. A rare Japanese original of a cult album. The Blue Ridge Rangers is the first solo studio album by John Fogerty, former vocalist and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival. When originally released on Fantasy Records in 1973, the album was credited to The Blue Ridge Rangers without mentioning Fogerty on the cover. Fogerty decided to do so in order to distance himself from his Creedence legacy. The album consists entirely of traditional and country covers, and Fogerty plays all the instruments. The album reached 47th place in the charts. Two singles from the album became hits: "Jambalaya", which reached number 16 in the United States and 15 in Canada, and "Hearts of Stone", which reached number 37 in the United States and 35 in Canada. The third single not included in the album, "You Don't Owe Me" reached 79th place in Canada.
