A New World Record is the sixth studio album by the British band Electric Light Orchestra, released in September 1976. The album was remastered and re-released in 2006 with the addition of six bonus tracks. A New World Record became the band's first album to reach the top ten in the UK (the previous three albums had great success in the USA, but not in the homeland of the musicians). The album was certified platinum in both the UK and the USA, and sold five million copies in the first year after its release. Like the previous album, A New World Record was recorded at Munich's Musicland Studios.

Aladdin Sane is the sixth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released in the United Kingdom on April 19, 1973 on the RCA Records label. A follow-up to his breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, it was the first album he wrote and released from a star position. The album was produced by Bowie and Ken Scott and features performances by Bowie's backing band The Spiders from Mars — Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey — with pianist Mike Garson, two saxophonists and three backing vocalists. Recorded in London and New York during the breaks between the stages of the Ziggy Stardust tour, the album was Bowie's last with the full line-up of The Spiders. Aladdin Sane was released in the UK on the RCA label on April 19, 1973. With an estimated order of 100,000 copies, the album debuted at the top of the UK Albums chart, where it lasted five weeks. In the United States, where Bowie has already had three albums on the charts, Aladdin Sane reached 17th place on the Billboard Top LPs chart. Fat Mattress is the self—titled debut studio album by the English rock band Fat Mattress, released on August 15, 1969. Fat Mattress was founded in late 1968 by vocalist Neil Landon and guitarist and vocalist Noel Redding, who at that time was playing bass guitar in the popular psychedelic rock band The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Landon and Redding had already written several songs for Landon's cancelled solo project and, having invited bassist Jim Leverton and drummer Eric Dillon, completed the writing and began recording their first material. The self-titled debut album was completed the following year and released in the UK by Polydor Records on August 15, and in the US by Atco Records in October. In support of the album, the band also released their debut single "Magic Forest", which reached number 11 in the Netherlands.
