The rare Japanese edition of the cult album The Book of Taliesyn is the second studio album by the British band Deep Purple. It was released in the USA in October 1968 on the Tetragrammaton Records label, and in the UK in June 1969 on the EMI label. The musical style of The Book of Taliesyn is a mix of progressive rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock.[1][16][17][18][19]. Many reviewers believe that on this album the band demonstrated greater maturity and complexity of musical compositions than on the previous one. The album received a good rating in the USA, but like the previous one, it went completely unnoticed in the musicians' homeland, in the UK. Bill Fehilly is the band's manager, who died shortly before in a plane crash. The musicians admitted that without his help, Nazareth would never have crossed the borders of England — let alone other countries. Play ’n’ the Game, like the previous album, went unnoticed in the UK, while the band was very popular in Canada, where Nazareth received about 50 gold and platinum records throughout the 1970s. A rare British original by a cult prog band. Levitation is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Hawkwind, released in 1980. It reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. During the album's release, bandleader Dave Brock stated, "With Levitation, we returned to the style of our debut album. And it was a record that fully expressed our ideals and what we fought for."  This is their first studio album since the departure of lead vocalist and lyricist Robert Calvert, and the lyrics here are usually superficial, and the number of instrumental parts is increased. It is also Hawkwind's only studio album to feature former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, and the first for former Gong keyboardist Tim Blake, who later rejoined the band and played on the 2010 album Blood of the Earth. ...more
