The Best of Uriah Heep (also known as The Best of...) is the title of the most successful compilation album by the British rock band Uriah Heep. It was released by Bronze Records and Mercury Records in three different editions with approximately the same set of songs, but with different covers and track listings. The first edition was released in 1974 in Canada, the second in 1975 in Europe, and the third the following year in the United States. A rare Japanese edition of the iconic album. A Collection of Beatles Oldies is a collection containing a selection of songs by The Beatles recorded from 1963 to 1966. The album was released in 1966 by Parlophone in the UK and Australia, in both mono and stereo versions. By the pre-Christmas season of 1966, the EMI label had no new musical material from The Beatles for the first time in three years. The compilation was an alternative suitable to meet EMI's demand for new products, as the band had just begun recording Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the follow-up to their album Revolver, released in the summer. It was the first official compilation of the band's greatest hits, although the Beatles did not participate in the creation of the album. The album peaked at number six on the UK Albums Chart. The album cover contributed to the myth of "Paul is dead", as in the cover illustration, the road seems to lead directly into the head of a sitting person (as if secretly hinting: "Paul died on the road, in a car accident"). ...more

Summer Vacation is an album of soundtracks by Cliff Richard and The Shadows for the film of the same name. This is their second soundtrack album for the film and Richard's eighth album overall. The album topped the UK Albums chart for 14 weeks. Three singles were released from the album. Before the album's release, the songs "The Next Time" and "Bachelor Boy" (on side A and side B respectively) were already hits. It was followed by "Summer Holiday" and finally "Foot Tapper" (performed by The Shadows). All three singles topped the UK singles chart. ...more

MINGUS, CHARLES-RIGHT NOW-1966-FRANCE-AMERICA FIRST PRESS-30AM 6063.  A rare French original of a cult album.  Right Now: Live at the Jazz Workshop is a live album by jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus, recorded in San Francisco in 1964 and released on the Fantasy label in 1966. The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow says: "Although this underrated band does not reach the passionate level of the Mingus-Dolphy quintet, it is quite independent." The rare Japanese edition of the cult album The Book of Taliesyn is the second studio album by the British band Deep Purple. It was released in the USA in October 1968 on the Tetragrammaton Records label, and in the UK in June 1969 on the EMI label. The musical style of The Book of Taliesyn is a mix of progressive rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock.[1][16][17][18][19]. Many reviewers believe that on this album the band demonstrated greater maturity and complexity of musical compositions than on the previous one. The album received a good rating in the USA, but like the previous one, it went completely unnoticed in the musicians' homeland, in the UK.
