Summer Vacation is an album of soundtracks by Cliff Richard and The Shadows for the film of the same name. This is their second soundtrack album for the film and Richard's eighth album overall. The album topped the UK Albums chart for 14 weeks. Three singles were released from the album. Before the album's release, the songs "The Next Time" and "Bachelor Boy" (on side A and side B respectively) were already hits. Rare British early edition of the cult album.  Can't Buy a Thrill is the debut studio album by American rock band Steely Dan, released in November 1972 on ABC Records. It was written by band members Walter Becker and Donald Feigen and recorded in August 1972 at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles with producer Gary Katz. This album is one of the most stylistically eclectic in Steely Dan's work, combining the sounds of soft rock, pop rock and jazz rock, as well as philosophical, mysterious lyrics. The commercially successful album Can't Buy a Thrill reached 17th place on the US Billboard Top LPs chart.  Tape, which was promoted by the popular singles Do It Again and Reelin' In the Years, and eventually received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It also received positive reviews and was included in many retrospective lists of "greatest albums", including Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list (2003). ...more

This is one of the innovative albums in the style of jazz fusion. The name is a translation of the Latin phrase morituri te salutant, which, according to popular belief (but not academic agreement), gladiators addressed to the emperor before the start of a gladiatorial duel. The original vinyl album had the name "Colosseum" on the record label and on the spine of the cover, but the album is better known as "Those Who are About to Die Greet You". The album reached number 15 on the UK Albums Chart. ...more

At the 1967 Grammy Awards, Sinatra won two Grammy Awards for his efforts on this album, including Record of the Year for the title track, as well as Best Male Vocal Performance for the same song. (In the same year, he received another Grammy Award - "Album of the Year for a Man and his Music"). Ernie Freeman's arrangement of the title track earned him the Grammy Award for Best Arrangement Accompanied by a Vocalist or Instrumentalist. This is the last album Sinatra performed with longtime arranger/conductor Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. "Strangers in the Night" went platinum for one million copies sold in the United States. ...more
