The album became a major success in continental Europe, Scandinavia and Canada, topping most album charts in the second half of 1978, and also became their first number one album in the UK. In Canada, the album received a nomination for the 1980 Juno Award in the International Album of the Year category. Nightflight to Venus includes the worldwide hits "Rivers of Babylon" and "Brown Girl in the Ring", a two-sided single that topped the UK singles chart and sold over 2 million copies.[4] The sequel was another Boney M. classic, "Rasputin", which in most countries was also performed on the double A side in combination with "Painter Man", a cover version of the 1966 hit by The Creation. In the UK, "Rasputin" and "Painter Man" were released separately as A-sides by Atlantic Records, both entering the Top 10. "Rivers of Babylon", which reached number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, became their biggest hit in the United States.

WATERS, ROGER-THE WALL LIVE IN BERLIN (2LP)-1990-FIRST PRESS HOLLAND-MERCURY-846613-1. A rare European original of the cult concert. The Wall: Live in Berlin is a concert performance of the legendary rock opera The Wall by Pink Floyd, organized by its main author Roger Waters and held on July 21, 1990 at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz, which has long been divided by the Berlin Wall. The concert was filmed as a TV movie, and also released in September 1990 as a live album. The concert took place in the presence of a 200,000-strong audience on July 21, 1990 at Potsdamer Platz, which was previously a no-man's land separating East and West Berlin. During the concert, a "wall" with a width of more than 160 m and a height of about 25 m was erected on the stage, which was finally destroyed to the ground. Many bright performers and actors took part in the show. ...more

SANTANA, CARLOS AND COLTRANE, ALICE - ILLUMINATIONS-1974-FIRST PRESS USA-COLUMBIA-PC32900. Rare American original original. After the release of the album , critics wrote: There is a clear discrepancy between the sheer ambition of this CD and its rather modest status in Santana's discography. The reason, obviously, is that the powerful swing did not quite succeed. We can say that this album is a continuation of the storyline started on Love, Devotion, Surrender with John McLaughlin. Here we are again witnessing a mighty spiritual message and free jazz arrivals. Here, Santana's partner is Alice Coltrane, the widow of the famous jazz musician. It is important that she is not only a widow, but also a harpist (almost the only one in jazz), as well as a pianist and string arranger. The presence of double bassist Dave Holland is also pleasing. The swing here is obvious: a bold attempt to mix classical, jazz and ethnic rhythms together - that is, to make a universal, comprehensive album. Admittedly, on quieter numbers, all this sounds very pleasant: beautiful passages by Santana, Alice's harp overdubs and blissful strings delight the ear, and for the sake of this alone, the album is worth keeping on the shelf. However, the central part of the album is still the 15-minute Angel Of Sunlight, which begins very smoothly, but develops into a frenzied battle of instruments and cultures.   ...more

LENNON, JOHN-WALLS AND BRIDGES-1974-THE FIRST UK-APPLE- PCTC253 matrix PRESS A-Z5/B-Z6 . A rare British original .  Walls and Bridges is the fifth solo studio album by Beatles band member John Lennon, released in 1974. "Walls And Bridges" was recorded during Lennon and Yoko Ono's long separation. Elton John took part in the recording of the song "Whatever Gets You thru the Night". He bet Lennon that this song could take the first place in the American charts (which had not previously been possible for any of Lennon's solo singles). In case that happened, Lennon was obliged to take part in an Elton John concert. He had to fulfill his promise because "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" really managed to climb to the top of the chart. The composition "Beef Jerky" is the only instrumental on Lennon's solo albums. In the song "Ya Ya", Lennon's eleven-year-old son Julian plays drums. ...more

Lot 52.BOWIE, DAVID-HEROES -1977-ПЕРВЫЙ ПРЕСС UK-RCA-NMINT/NMINT

BOWIE, DAVID-HEROES -1977-FIRST PRESS UK-RCA-PL12522. A rare British original of the cult album .. "Heroes" is the twelfth studio album by British musician David Bowie, released on October 14, 1977 on the RCA Records label; the second of the so-called "Berlin trilogy" (albums Low, "Heroes", Lodger), recorded in collaboration with Brian Eno. The only album of the cycle, entirely recorded in Berlin. On the "Heroes" disc, the sound of Low's previous album evolved in a more "positive" direction. The composition of the same name — a classic story of two lovers secretly meeting near the Berlin Wall with a threat to their lives - remains one of Bowie's most famous songs to this day. The album as a whole was extremely highly appreciated by critics - in particular, thanks to the contribution of guitarist Robert Fripp, who specially flew from the USA for one day to record his guitar parts. According to John Lennon, when creating his album Double Fantasy (1980), he sought to "do something as good as the album "Heroes"". The weekly New Musical Express called "Heroes" the "album of the year". ...more
