Clear Air Turbulence is the second studio album by the British jazz-rock band Ian Gillan Band, released in 1977 with a cover by Chris Foss. Work on the album was carried out from July 1976 to September 1976. A UK tour was arranged, although all dates were cancelled until April 1977 so that the new album could be re-recorded and remixed at Kingsway Recorders, London.

Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple and the first recorded by the reunited "classic line—up" of the band, released in November 1984. At the beginning of October, Perfect Strangers was mixed, and on November 16 it went on sale, rising to 5th place in Britain and 17th in the USA. Blackmore, known for his clumsiness, joked that the album should finally be called the 1974 album, hinting that the last album recorded in this line-up was released back in 1973 (Who Do We Think We Are). Such zeal did not remain without consequences: the album turned out to be very successful, quickly became platinum, took 5th place in the UK charts and 17th place in the USA.
