Love over Gold is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Dire Straits, released on September 20, 1982 on Vertigo Records and Warner Bros. Records in the USA. The presence of detailed musical compositions with long instrumental passages in the album brings it closer in style to progressive rock. This is the last CD of the band recorded with the participation of the original drummer Peak Withers. The singles from the album, "Private Investigations", reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, and "Industrial Disease" reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The album topped the charts in Australia, Austria, Italy, New Zealand, Norway and the UK, and peaked at No. 19 in the US. ZOO-ZOO-1971-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-BACILLUS - 6494006 Mega rare album on a prestigious label. ZOO is a French prog band based on blues and jazz. The debut album of the French band formed in 1968. Starting work in the studio on April 16, 1969, the musicians recorded 8 songs included in the album of the same name in 2 days. In November of the same year, the band took part in the festival in the Belgian city of Amougies together with "Pink Floyd", "Colosseum", "The Nice", "East Of Eden", Frank Zappa, etc. In 1970, before the release of the second album, Joël Daydé and Pierre Fanen left the band due to musical differences, and Englishman Ian Bellamy took the place of the vocalist. The second album was recorded from June 12 to September 9, 1970, later receiving the opportunity to promote on the two largest radio stations in New York - "WOR—FM" and "WABC-FM". It was released by Decca in the UK and Parrot in the US in September 1969. This is the last album recorded with longtime pianist Bob Hall. The album track "Made Up My Mind" first appeared as the B-side of an American single on Parrot Records 45-40039 (released in June 1969), accompanied by "Train to Nowhere" from their album Blue Matter. The track "Waiting in the Bamboo Grove" would later be released as the B-side of the British Decca single F 13019 (released in May 1970) "A Hard Way To Go" from their album. Raw siena. Side Two was recorded live at Cooks Ferry Inn, Edmonton, London, on May 12, 1969. The album featured "Lonesome" Dave Peverett on vocals after Chris Yulden left the band last spring. Leader/guitarist Kim Simmonds will be the only band member to continue working with the band after this album, as all the other band members left to form Foghat next year. It was released by Decca in 1970 (SKL 5066). For release in the USA and Canada, the cassettes were leased to Parrot Records (PAS 71042). The album spent a week in the official UK charts and reached number 50. It performed significantly better in the US, where it spent 19 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 39, their second-highest album on the US charts. ...more
