In Search of the Lost Chord is the third studio album by the British band The Moody Blues, released in July 1968 on Deram Records. The Moody Blues' second album, recorded in the classic Hayward—Pinder—Lodge—Thomas Edge line—up, and the band's second work with producer Tony Clark. On this record, the band's signature sound was formed, built around a mellotron. The album was written under the influence of LSD, transcendental meditation and Oriental music, in particular, Hindustani music. The theme of the album's songs touches on such topics as the spiritual development of a person, his desire for search and discovery. Two songs from the record, "Ride My See-Saw" and "Voices in the Sky", were also released as singles. After the release of In Search of the Lost, Chord took quite high positions in the charts.
