QUEEN-A DAY AT THE RACES-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-EMI number EMTC104 Matrix A-4U/B-4U.A rare British original. A Day at the Races is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on December 10, 1976 in the UK and December 18, 1976 in the USA.The title of the album — "A Day at the Races" — as well as the previous one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers. A Day at the Races immediately came under fire from critics. Queen was accused of an unsuccessful attempt to repeat A Night At The Opera. The album turned out to be really very similar to the previous one, but this was never hidden by the musicians. It was released in 1972, after Joplin's death, as a double album. The first record contains performances with Big Brother and the Holding Company, and the second with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, recorded in different locations in 1968 and 1970. There are no live recordings from her first solo work with the Kozmic Blues band on the album, although the songs produced with this group were performed in Full Tilt Boogie Band recordings. The photographs used for the gatefold album were taken by photographer David Gar in New York in 1969 and 1970. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 in the US. ...more

BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST-EYES OF THE UNIVERSE-1979-FIRST PRESS UK-POLYDOR-POLD5029.A rare British original of the cult prog band. Eyes Of The Universe is the tenth studio album by the British band Barclay James Harvest, released on November 5, 1979.  After recording the album "XII" in 1978, the band lost the "branded" mellotrons of Stuart "Woolley" Woolstenholm. Feeling close within the Barclay James Harvest group, Woolley seriously engaged in a solo career. The remaining trio of musicians decided to continue the existence of their collective, making up for the loss mainly due to session musicians. The band's sound has noticeably improved and become more pop, but it has remained "afloat". And that was the main thing. One could not even dream of fame in America, but in Europe the records continued to be sold "briskly". ...more

SMALL FACES-OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE-1968-FIRST PRESS (STEREO) UK-IMMEDIATE-IMSP012. A very rare British original of the cult album. Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake is the third studio album and the only concept album by English rock band Small Faces. Released on May 24, 1968, the album reached number one on the UK album charts on June 29, where it remained for a total of six weeks.  Ultimately, it became the band's last studio album during their initial incarnation (and the last album to contain exclusively new material until the release of the Playmates reunion album in 1977). The album's title and distinctive packaging design were a parody of Ogden's Nut-Brown Flakes, a brand of canned crumbly tobacco that was produced in Liverpool. since 1899 by Thomas Ogden. The cover was ranked 21st on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Album Covers in 1991.. ...more
