REA, CHRIS-WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BENNY SANTINI?-1978-FIRST PRESS UK-MAGNET-MAGL5021. A rare British original. Whatever Happened to Benny Santini? is the debut album by Chris Rea, released in 1978. The album's first single, "Fool (If You Think It's Over)", is justifiably considered Chris' most famous song and remains his best hit in the US, reaching number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and number 1 on the Adult Contemporary Singles charts. This success was also facilitated by the extensive broadcasting on Radio Caroline, as it was dedicated to the British Home Office, which tried to stop broadcasting the radio station. The next single is "What Happened to Benny Santini?" It reached number 71 on the Hot 100 chart and stayed there for four weeks.
