ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD?-A 1972 album recorded by The Groundhogs, originally released by United Artists Records in 1972, The cover is in the form of a comic book featuring groundhogs depicted by superheroes, drawn by comic book artist Neil Adams. In the story, they are fighting the personified evils of overpopulation, environmental pollution, war, "Pig Business" and "Sacred Cow" (religion), as well as a drug-addicted Monkey. Each of the band members is fighting their own evil, which has been hindering them from the very beginning, only for them to stand out and wreak havoc in another part of the globe. The lyrics of each song touch on these themes, and despite the comic nature of the cover, the lyrics are quite serious because they are politically and socially motivated.This was the first Groundhogs album to go beyond guitar/bass/percussion instruments, with McPhee using keyboards (mellotron and harmonium) on a number of tracks. ...more
