Lot 19FLOCK-FLOCK-1969-FIRST PRESS UK-CBS-NMINT/NMINT

FLOCK-FLOCK-1969-THE FIRST PRESS UK-CBS-S63733. Matrix A-1/B-1. A very rare British original of the cult prog-blues-jazz-psycho band. THE FLOCK is the first album by a very interesting American band that worked at the junction of jazz, blues and rock. In almost any criticism you will read that FLOCK is very similar to CHICAGO, was influenced by CHICAGO, or something similar. You can safely throw this criticism in the trash... The Flock failed to achieve the commercial success of other jazz-rock bands of the era, such as Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears, but they became quite famous due to the inclusion of the violin in the group. They cannot be attributed to the jazz mainstream and gloss, which American philistines liked so much, because the powerful brass section was often reinforced by a hard sound and hard rock riffs.

Vinyl record in a clean top condition - NMINT/ARCHIVE. Laminated cover in top condition - NMINT/ARCHIVE Labels in top condition - NMINT/ARCHIVE.

Lot 64.MOORE GARY-AFTER HOURSE-1992-FIRST PRESS UK/EU-VIRGIN-NMINT/NMINT

MOORE GARY-AFTER HOUR-1992-FIRST PRESS UK/EU-VIRGIN-212558. A rare original legend in rock music. After Hours is a studio album by Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released on March 10, 1992. After a busy tour in 1990, Moore recorded the album "After Hours", which, like its predecessor, was sustained in the style of blues-rock, but with a great soul influence and with the addition of a brass section that played in the style of soul. Despite the fact that the album turned out to be very similar to "Still Got The Blues", its success was more modest. After Hours includes both Moore's original songs and well-known blues standards. The Memphis band The Memphis Horns took part in the recording, as well as guest musicians: BB King ("Since I Met You Baby") and Albert Collins ("The Blues Is Alright"). The album reached the 1st place in the charts of Switzerland and Sweden, as well as the 2nd place in Germany and Norway. In general, he received favorable reviews. Allmusic reviewer David Genzen called After Hours "as impressive" as Still Got the Blues. ...more

Lot 60.QUEEN-A NIGHT AT THE OPERA-1975-FIRST PRESS USA-ELEKTRA-NMINT/NMINT

QUEEN-A NIGHT AT THE OPERA-1975-FIRST PRESS USA-ELEKTRA-7E-1053 SP Specialty pressing. A rare American original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "A Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album, "God Save the Queen", is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band. The album was ranked 230th on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and 128th on the 2020 list. ...more
