This four-lp compilation was released in August 1970 and became his 38th album. The compilation reached number 45 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 25 on the country chart. The album received gold status on February 13, 1973, platinum status on March 27, 1992, and double platinum status from the American Recording Industry Association on June 17, 1992. Of the 51 tracks featured, four are being played for the first time in this collection: "Viva Las Vegas", "Suspicious Minds", "Don't Cry Daddy" and "Kentucky Rain". Allmusic fully praised the album in their retrospective review, praising Rick Davis' keyboard work, Roger Hodgson's vocals, and John Helliwell's saxophone. A rare British original by a cult prog band. Levitation is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Hawkwind, released in 1980. It reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. During the album's release, bandleader Dave Brock stated, "With Levitation, we returned to the style of our debut album. And it was a record that fully expressed our ideals and what we fought for."  This is their first studio album since the departure of lead vocalist and lyricist Robert Calvert, and the lyrics here are usually superficial, and the number of instrumental parts is increased.
