BEATLES-ABBEY ROAD-1969-FIFTH PRESS 1976 UK-APPLE -PCS7088 Matrixyex 749-4/YEX 750-3. Fifth Press, summer 1976-1980. Light green label apple.Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. Work on Abbey Road took place from February to August 1969 and became the last joint project of all four members of the ensemble (the last numbered album of the group Let It Be, released in 1970, was mostly recorded in January 1969). The record was produced by George Martin, who had worked with the band since 1962. Abbey Road sales totaled four million copies in the first two months. In the UK, the album debuted at the top of the national chart, where it remained for 11 weeks, after which it was supplanted by The Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed for one week. Then he returned to the 1st place again (in the Christmas week) and stayed there for another six weeks (17 weeks in total), until he was displaced by the second Led Zeppelin record - Led Zeppelin II. Abbey Road spent a total of 81 weeks on the UK Albums chart. There was a similar situation abroad. A very rare British original of the cult album. Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake is the third studio album and the only concept album by English rock band Small Faces. Released on May 24, 1968, the album reached number one on the UK album charts on June 29, where it remained for a total of six weeks.  Ultimately, it became the band's last studio album during their initial incarnation (and the last album to contain exclusively new material until the release of the Playmates reunion album in 1977). The album's title and distinctive packaging design were a parody of Ogden's Nut-Brown Flakes, a brand of canned crumbly tobacco that was produced in Liverpool. since 1899 by Thomas Ogden. There are no live recordings from her first solo work with the Kozmic Blues band on the album, although the songs produced with this group were performed in Full Tilt Boogie Band recordings. The Flock failed to achieve the commercial success of other jazz-rock bands of the era, such as Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears, but they became quite famous due to the inclusion of the violin in the group. On the Road to Freedom is an album by English rock musician Alvin Lee and American gospel singer Milon Lefevre. Released in November 1973, it was Lee's first solo project, which achieved international success thanks to his leadership of a blues rock band ten years later. The album was recorded at Lee's home studio in south Oxfordshire, which he and Lefebvre built specifically for the project. Guest musicians on the sessions were George Harrison, Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Ron Wood and Mick Fleetwood. "Fallen Angel" and Harrison's song "So Sad (No Love of His Own)" were released as singles from the album. The album On the Road to Freedom was well received by music critics, although Lee's more subtle guitar playing and new musical direction were not welcomed by fans Ten Years After.  ...more

ATLANTIS-SAME-1972-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-VERTIGO-6360609. A rare original continuation of the cult prog group FRUMPY. Atlantis was formed at the end of the summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravets (keyboards) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played in the band Frumpy. The founding members also included guitarist Frank Dees and drummer Kurt Kress (formerly of the band Emergency). After several live performances in Germany, the first LP was released at Island Records Studio in London, which was widely recognized, especially in the United States, where Rumpf's bluesy vocals were appreciated. Diz and Kress left the band after recording. For a four-week tour of England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meyer joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg joined Atlantis as drummer. Produced by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Procol's Ninth album was slightly different from the previous album, with a much brighter sound than Chris Thomas' more elaborate works. According to an interview with guitarist Mick Grabham, taken by Roland Clare for the 2009 reissue, Leiber and Stoller paid less attention to the producer sound, and more to the "structure of the songs". A rare American original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "A Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium".
